بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the most compassionate
As we are observing the blessed month of Ramadan, we are filled with gratitude and joy as we reflect on a momentous achievement for our community. This year, for the first time in many localities across the triangle and state, we proudly celebrate the official proclamations recognizing Ramadan, issued by the governor, state representatives, mayors, city councils, and board of commissioners. These proclamations not only highlight the importance of Ramadan as a sacred time for Muslims but also underscore the value of inclusivity, diversity, and unity within our state.
Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community, observed by Muslims around the world. It is a time to increase acts of charity, deepen spiritual growth, and strengthen bonds with family and neighbors. This year, the recognition by our state’s leaders serves as a powerful reminder of the rich cultural heritage that Muslim communities contribute to the fabric of our society. With over 130,000 Muslims that call NC home, these proclamations are very much welcomed and appreciated by our community.
The statewide proclamations mark a significant milestone, as local mayors and our governor have acknowledged the vital role that Ramadan plays in fostering understanding and respect for different faiths. These proclamations are more than just a symbolic gesture—they represent the growing recognition of the Muslim community’s positive impact on our state and a deeper commitment to mutual respect and solidarity.
We thank the dedicated leaders who made these proclamations possible, and we are deeply encouraged by the ongoing support and collaboration between our community and public officials. This recognition is not just for the Muslim community, but for all of us, as it serves as a reminder that our collective strength lies in respecting our differences and celebrating our shared values.
As we continue to observe Ramadan, let us come together to continue to build bridges of understanding, kindness, and compassion in every corner of our state. We encourage all members of our community to engage with local events and initiatives in celebration of this blessed month, and to join us in reflecting on the beauty of unity, respect, and peace that Ramadan brings.
Ramadan Mubarak to all! May this blessed month bring peace, joy, and blessings to each of us and our families.
